I just was inspired how to make the most of progress notes. (forgive this format doesn’t look as exciting as it does on my patient chart)
I will use my comprehensive exam as an example. I placed my headers in bold but made the colon following the word (:) in nonbold so as I type the note it is in nonbold and shows up easier to read. Now when I see a new patient I simply hit the tool that reads “comprehensive exam” and this templet will be generated. It keeps me on track to get everything written.

I have been using build 582 as of this monday!!!
I am so impressed and excited by what our programmers have put into the program. One new feature of MacDent Pro’s scheduler I particularly like is when you place your curser over an appointment it shows a bubble with the information that sometimes cannot be seen because the appointment time is too small to display.
Also, they added the option of asking if you want to move an appointment… if you hit NO it goes right back to where it was, which is great since we often used to bump things and wonder… where was that patient’s appt?
And you can choose to use this option or turn it off in Preferences:
this program just keeps getting better and better.

MacDent Pro and Dentrix can run on the same Mac with Fusion VM ware. This gives you the best of both worlds. There is no need to convert old data from Dentrix because you always have access to it.

We have solved a problem in converting data from old windows programs like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Practiceworks… we don’t have to. We set up our Mac’s to run both Windows and Mac OS X with Fusion VM Ware. This way, every computer in the dental office can access both operating systems and the associated programs. If you need to know when a crown was done on Mrs. Smith, you just open the old system’s window and look. It is the best of both worlds.
If you have a Windows based digital X Ray system, no problem.. you access it on the Windows side of your Mac. Of course we offer a Mac native digital X ray system, Radiovision.

Our developers have been working on the iPad ap to run MacDent Pro on the iPad since the day it was announced. We envision patients being able to fill out their registration information and health history on an iPad in the reception room. We also see it’s usefullness in the dental operatory in the patients hands to view images and X Rays. It won’t be long till iPad’s are shipping!

We have just gone through some EXCITING changes at DDSMac and we want to share our excitement with you, our valued clients.
Change Can Be scary…but not this time!
We have changed our management team, shifted responsibilities and embraced a positive can do attitude. Our acting CEO, Alan Steiner DMD, wants solutions not problems. We see big things coming and are busting at the seams with promise.
Here is what is new with our software:
MacDent Pro version 2.1 will soon be released. We are in our final phase of heavy testing to make sure it performs exactly as we all expect. Many of you have made wonderful and valuable suggestions and we have listened. In this new build you will see greater speed and stability, a much more uniform GUI, and thorough and reliable reports as we completely gutted and reworked this portion of our program.
We know you’ll love what our new release can do for your practice management.
We are also delighted to represent RadioVision.
RadioVision is an exceptional digital radiography solution designed expressly for the Mac. Not only can RadioVision capture x-rays using an Eva sensor, but it can also be used to manage patient photos and documents. If you are considering going digital you will be very impressed with this clean, easy to use program.
And for those of our clients who are ready to give up their film and messy chemicals, MDP bridges seamlessly with RadioVision so there is no need to re-enter patients in a second database.
Call Lewis on our sales team and ask for a demo. 877-337-6229
We are committed to continuing to develop software that works the way you do.

How exciting, My first blog ever. We have come along way since the late 70’s. DDSMac is very proud to announce a total reorganization. We now have 7 more partners actually working on the project. We are very close to the release of version 2.1. This is the version we have all been waiting for. I am certain all of our Beta Users have been looking forward to this release. We want to thank them for their past support and patience Also we now have flawless access to MacDentPro servers thru the iphone. I cannot wait to try it on my Blackberry Storm

I had a chance to sit down with MacDent Pro’s cheif programmer last week and preview the newest version that is being tested by QA for an early Spring release. I was so impressed and chopping at the bit to get my hands on this Practice Management system for Dentists. We’ve been using the program now for 5 years and I have never been so excited for a new release like I am for this one. It’s awesome!

MacDent Pro patient management information and it’s sister program Radiovision can be accessed on the iPhone! Imagine getting an after hours call and you cannot remember the patient. Pull out your iPhone and log in to MacDent Pro. Navigate through all of the screens with the touch gestures you know so well on the iPhone. You can even view X Rays and the patients pictures on your iPhone screen. When you call the patient back, you will know everything you need to know.
